The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team has reached its highest ranking ever, No. 1, in the final editions of both the D3hockey.com and USCHO.com Top 15 polls.
The Blugolds ended the season winning the NCAA Division III national championship, the first NCAA title in school history. The completed the year with a record of 24-5-2.
Eau Claire received all 20 first-place votes in both polls.

Men's Hockey Headed to NCAA Championship Ranked Fourth
The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team is ranked fourth in both the D3hockey.com and USCHO.com Top 15 polls, announced March 4.
The Blugolds were second in both polls last week but dropped two spots after falling to St. Norbert College in the NCHA Peters Cup Final last weekend.
Eau Claire earned an at-large bid to compete in the 2013 NCAA Championship for the first time since 1989. The Blugolds will kickoff tournament play against Saint John's University (Minn.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host the Johnnies at Hobbs Ice Center.

The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team is ranked second in the USCHO.com and third in the D3hockey.com Top 15 national rankings, announced Feb. 18.
The No. 2 ranking is the highest the Blugolds have ever reached in the USCHO.com poll, which began in 1997.
Eau Claire has been No. 3 in the D3hockey.com poll for the past two weeks after ranking second in the Feb. 4 poll.
The Blugolds are 19-4-2 on the season and begin their NCHA postseason play by hosting UW-River Falls in the semifinal round of the 2013 NCHA Peters Cup playoffs Saturday.

Men's Hockey Ranked Sixth and Seventh Nationally

Blugold Men's Hockey Heads into Break Ranked Third & Fifth
The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team completed the first half of its season with an 11-2-1 record and is now ranked third in the Dec. 10 USCHO.com Top 15 Poll and fifth in the D3hockey.com Top 15 Poll.
This past weekend, the Blugolds split with UW-River Falls, winning 5-1 Friday but falling 2-1 Saturday.

team stayed the same in one poll while dropping one spot in the other.
The Blugolds are ranked third in the latest USCHO.com Top 15
poll and fourth in the newest D3hockey.com Top 15 poll.
A week ago, the Blugolds were third in both polls but lost
their first game of the season this weekend as they split with UW-Stevens Point.
Eau Claire is now 10-1-1 on the season.

The UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey team is ranked third in two
nationals, which were announced Nov. 26.
The Blugolds are third in both the D3hockey.com and
USCHO.com Top 15 rankings, the highest ranking the team has ever received in
the history of the polls.
Additionally, Eau Claire earned one first place vote in each
of the polls.
The Blugolds are off to a 9-0-1 start, their best start to
the season ever and the longest unbeaten streak in school history.
The team hosts UW-Stevens Point at Hobbs Ice Center for two
games this weekend, at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

The UW-Eau Claire men's hockey team has reached its highest ranking ever in both the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com Top 15 polls.
In the Nov. 19 USCHO.com poll, the Blugolds are ranked fourth, moving up from No. 8 last week, which was previously the Blugolds' highest ranking ever. Out of 237 USCHO.com polls going back to 1997, the Blugolds have only been ranked in the top 10 five times including the past two weeks. On Nov. 17, 2008, Eau Claire was No. 9 while being No. 10 on Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, 2008.
In the Nov. 19 D3hockey.com poll, the Blugolds are No. 3, the highest ever in the poll which started last season. Eau Claire's previous best ranking was No. 12 on both Jan. 9 and Jan. 23, 2012. Eau Claire also received one first place vote in the latest poll.
This season, the Blugolds are currently 7-0-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the NCHA, in first place. It's the first time since 1982 the Blugolds have not lost a game over their first eight contests.
The Blugolds are coming off a weekend series at St. Norbert, which was ranked No. 3 at the time. The Blugolds won 5-3 the first night and tied 3-3 the second night. It was the first time since 1995 St. Norbert didn't get at least one win against Eau Claire in the back-to-back series.
Coming up this weekend, the Blugolds will host Concordia University (Wis.) both Saturday and Sunday at Hobbs Ice Center. Saturday's game is slated for 7 p.m. while Sunday's game, which is Youth Day, will begin at 2 p.m. After the game, children can skate with the team.

John Kearns Signs with Laredo Bucks

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, announced Wednesday that they have signed John Kearns for the 2011-2012 season.
John Kearns is 23 years old from Park Ridge, Illinois. Kearns has played the last four seasons for the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire (NCAA III). He also played last season for the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL).
