Cross Country Teams Move up in National Rankings


The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's cross country teams have moved up in the latest national rankings from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In the week three rankings, the Blugold women are 13th, up one spot from the previous week, while the men jumped three spots to No. 30.

In the region, the women are second and the men are eighth.

  1. The recent success and rankings movement of cross country teams shows that athletes are continuing to improve their individual efforts, as well as their team's performance. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released their annual release of the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Rankings. One thing that continues to surprise me is how many teams are moving up in these rankings year after year.
